Anna Wintour's 1990's Moment

As fashion works in a cycle it was inevitable that the look of the 1990's would have a "moment" again. We've already seen the return of double denim and combat trousers, and now it looks like magazines are going for the 90's vibe too. Jessica Biel's recent US Vogue cover was very reminiscent of the decade, but it's the April cover, with the stunning Gisele Bündchen, that really taps into the 90's mood.

I was lucky enough to get given a stack of old UK Vogue's (some of which were edited by Anna) from the 80's and early 90's, by a friend, and Patrick Demarchelier's image of Gisele really reminds me of those covers. And a little of Baywatch too...
I'm sure there will be some people who don't like this cover - at first I wasn't even that keen - but it's really growing on me. And I wouldn't be surprised if more US Vogue covers have a 90's feel to them this year. Also I can't wait to see what the McQueen feature is like, fingers crossed they've dug out some old editorial images.

What do you think of the cover?

If you put your thumb over Giselle's face, it's easily Cindy Crawford in the 90's. Don't like this particular outfit, but do appreciate the 90's grunge era for sure.

The outfit does nothing for me, but I love seeing pictures of Gisele. I think she's truly one of a kind. I'm buying that issue!

I LOVE it. It reminds me of the the era of the supermodels. Curvy but healthy and very fit, while very slim.

This is glamourous.

At first, I really thought this was an old issue. It's so 90s and so nostalgic. Love it!

I want curvy but thin and perfect models back! Cindy,Claudia,Eva, Linda etc. had perfect bodies!
This cover reminds me of them, Gisele is still too skinny to me, but beautiful! Love the shorts and the bangles, and that the cover doesn't look all photoshopped, patinated and fake!

I could barely believe there was a model on the cover instead of an actress.

thank you for this sharing.
First impression, it is a 90's cover! And when i have red, i say ok! But it's quite different now: curvy seems to be back!
Good cover: happy face and healthy subjects for spring. I like it.

it's ok.. but it looks so dated :/ 90's is the worst era for fashion in my opinion so i don't think this could ever be good. x

Very Cindy Crawford! :) I'm not so sure how I feel about this yet.

Whoa, serious throwback! It might just ben the lighting though. I only knew it was a modern cover because of the McQueen tribute.

Not sure where to post this but I wanted to ask if anyone has heard of National Clicks?

Can someone help me find it?

Overheard some co-workers talking about it all week but didn't have time to ask so I thought I would post it here to see if someone could help me out.

Seems to be getting alot of buzz right now.

Thanks
