Some Blogging Tips

Over the last week or so a few bloggers have emailed me to ask for tips on getting their blogs going, especially those who couldn't make it to Topshop's blogging workshop on Tuesday. Luckily DisneyRollerGirl, Oh Elle and myself put together a hand-out with our advice, which was given out on Tuesday. So for those who couldn't make the workshop here are our top tips:

bloggertips

And apologies to bloggers who regularly email me asking for advice and tips, I try to reply to everyone who emails me but recently I've had very little time to get back to everyone.
And if you're a blogger reading this, and there's a tip you feel we missed out on feel free to leave it in the comments section. Hopefully I can learn from you.

Thanks for the tips, I was so sad that I couldn't meet you at topshop but the way from Germany to London is a bit to far for one day. ;) You are an inspiring example to me!!

Thanks Coco, that is really good to hear (I think I was one of those who emailed you).

I just have one more question - do you think it's imperative to keep the blog to one subject (fashion, food, etc.)? I'm intending for mine to be about all the things I love discovering in my new city, rather than restricted to fashion alone.

Also would you mind if we linked each other's pages (I've already linked you as one of my favourites, but please tell me if you'd rather I remove this).

Thank you ever so much. Your posts always bring a smile to my face :)

Great tips, thank you. I really do need to get on the Twitter trail pronto!

I would really like to know more back end stuff like sponsorship rate breakdowns. Do most go month by month, is there a volume discount? Is there a general blogger-insider template that every works off of or is it just truly individualized?

Thanks for any info.!

Some great tips - especially the one about blogging about something you love. I arsed about for a good year and a bit before finally settling for a fashion theme. And now I'm so motivated. It was always lurking in there - I just needed to let the beast loose! Your blog has always inspired me from the beginning! x

Nice list of tips! I forget the reasons why I chose blogger over wordpress and typepad, but at the time I had them... although now I see the comment form for wordpress, and I get little twinges of jealousy. I'd eventually like to move the blog to its own website, but that will be at least a good year down the road, when I've gotten some html experience under my belt.

Love your blog, I check you regularly. :) Thanks for the tips!

Hi Coco, great tips and advice, thanks for scanning this in :)

I'd love to start my own blog as I have lots of ideas but, what's a blog without pictures of the fashion to show to your readers? I'm worried about copyright and wondered what the deal was on that seeing as you use images from sites such as style.com in your blog - did you ask permission yourself or were you just allowed to link back to the site and that was that? xxxx
