The other day I was thinking about Beyonce's music videos, and how great they've all been this year*. And I think we all know Kanye agrees with me....
I was ready to crown her the Queen of Music Videos 2009 when I remembered Lady Gaga. Now I'm not a big Gaga fan (I own all B's albums and none of Gaga's singles) but you can't deny that she pulled out the stops this year.
So who do you think had the best music video style this year? Beyonce and her Single Ladies, or Gaga and her McQueen shoes?
*I'd just like to admit that the video for If I Were A Boy is the most confusing thing ever, and I had to watch it four times before I understood what it really about. I thought it was a love triangle in the police force the first time around.

As much as a I love Bey, GaGa gets my votes as she has created much more innovative and visually stunning videos this year. Her songs are so catchy as well!
Wow, Gaga is winning. I would have voted for her as well, but honestly, as Kanye put it 'Single Ladies' is one of the greatest videos of all time.
I only just got the If I were a Boy clip last week! And only because someone explained it to me haha!

Definitelly Gaga made a break-through this year and did some pretty fantastic things (not that I personally liked them) but Gaga is a newbie and B is already a QUEEN, her style and everything is mature and yet evolving, it was nice to see Beyonce not remaining secure and boring but doing some pretty much fantastic things on her own too.. So I'm definitelly crowning HER as the Star of the year. She just has more class in what she does and that for me is everything.
everyone could be shocking and different like gaga, but to maintain CLASS... that is an art. (in my opinion)

Lady G is without a doubt pop fashion's crazy First Lady...but i still lust after Beyonce's asymmetrical leotard from Single Ladies.

i loved both of them; they made great videos but i'm more inclined to lady gaga for pushing the boundaries aesthetically with her videos. Beyonce's are also great and wonderful visuals but we are more used to the kind of videos beyonce does compared to gaga videos.
If i compare the visual language of the videos in general to photography, the beyonce videos from sasha fierce would be helmut newton and lady gaga would be david lachapelle... but in this case i'd go with newton because he is one of my favorite photographers and the one i get much inspiration from.
Beyonce always has done amazing videos and she always looks fierce in them! but for me this has totally been gaga's year and i think she has def. brought it on the video front i think the bad romance video is just fabulous, very confusing but none the less awesome!

Beyonce is way better that Lady Gaga. (I went to Beyonce concert in June and she was amazing! That night I had the best time ever!)
I actually hate Gaga, I think her style is just horrible. But her music is sort of good.
Still, Beyonce better than Gaga. But, this is only my opinion.

I don't like Lady Gaga, Beyonce is amazing!
It took me a while to love Lady Gaga, but now I think she is just so refreshing in a somewhat stale and stagnant music industry right now. And I've always disliked Beyonce, but "Single Ladies" is one of my favorite songs (??) and the music video kicked major arse. It was a tough call but Lady G won it for me.

I love Beyoncé, but I think that Gaga has really pushed the envelope more this year. Music was getting kind of stagnant before she hit the scene. That being said, "Single Ladies" is so fierce that it makes me want to cry.
I´m not a huge fan of Lady Gaga, but I think she deserves the trophy. I like B´s music better too, but hey this was about peforming and being vanguard, right? So, my vote goes for LG.

Gaga, not only because I love her, but everything Beyoncé does seems so forced to me. The Deja Vu video really freaked me out.

at first i thought this is a hard one, but then i remembered Beyonces video "Video call" (ok, it from both of them) which is pure shit..so... My vote goes to LG because videos have better production, the costumes, the scenery... they do rock. she is annoying, but.. she does it good!

Oh yes, Lady Gaga is an entertainer you don't see often. She is vulgar, artistic and a real daredevil. But still, I can't relate to her videos. Not that I particularly relate to Single Ladies, but Beyonce sure has done some great videos. I.e. If I were a boy. And just for making or singing Halo, she's got my vote alone.

I don't think you could have picked to compare two artists that were more different! lol, I love both of them for there style and videos. Lady Gaga's stuff it really off the chain, but I can relate more to Beyonce's stuff. Love the daring Gaga, but I'm choosing Beyonce
