Yesterday I went sales shopping with some friends. I did Harvey Nichols and Selfridges, but I have to admit, I am the worst sales shopper ever. I love a bargain but I always get distracted by the new season clothes. And also, it's rather depressing how the sale items are always just packed into a tiny rail - presentation is vital, and sale rails never look inviting.
But I did manage to get an adorable black button-down paper bag waist skirt from the Whistles sale (for a fab £35). I'm kind of obsessed with paper bag waisted skirts at the moment because of the fabulous brown one in the Fendi S/S 2010 collection. My skirt is slightly less 'baggy' around the waist than the Fendi one, which is a shame, but it's still very sweet.

I have an odd relationship with Fendi, because it is probably the only big name label that I pay such little attention too. I'll check out the Chanel and Vuitton collections as soon as possible but I tend to let Fendi pass by.
I actually have no idea why I do this, because season after season I love the Fendi collections. Maybe my new years resolution should be to show Fendi some more love? Because, the S/S 2010 collection is stunning. And I love love love the shoes.

Anyone else find any good sale items so far?

i was going to do selfridges and harvey nichols yesterday as well, but was too tired from jetlag so will attempt today! i got tons of great alexander wang items on sale in hong kong though...women go for different pieces out there, so the stuff people are fighting for here are always available in abundance in the sale over there!

I'm the same with sales...I want all the new clothes! I managed to get a couple of Zara pieces but couldn't handle any of the other shops :) way too messy. And, I LOVE that Fendi skirt!

congrats on the buy, it's gorgeous! went sales shopping for the first time today, got my nye dress, and a heap of beautiful tops plus some denim shorts. quite happy =]

In Spain we have to wait until the 7th of Jan... so I'm waiting. But that day I'm hitting all the big places!
xx
In Greece sales have already started but unoficially, but I prefer shopping new items or vintage.
In www.asos.com sales have already started as well as in www.topshop.com
Wish you all happy and nice shopping. :)

And I loveee the Fendi skirt!Hope to get one soon! ;) :D
The skirt sounds fab and agree it was a great price. I really like whistles and will try and brave the sales soon!
I totally agree about sale items and the lack of presentation. I also find myself trying on and buying clothes just because they're marked own, which i HATE! Love the skirt though, good find.
We don´t have sales until january...
Zepequeña.
I want a paper bag waist skirt! There's not much shopping for me to do that's not overly expensive or completely trashy where I live :(
Wow, this fendi looks really good!
I'm on a no spend until ...well when I've paid the Masters loan back!
Yes Fendi, I'm the same but you are right - it is probably KL at it his best.
Good score with the skirt!
you are right, the shoes are great!!
that skirt is fab!!!!! and those shoes are amazing too :)
I totally adore the fendi skirt! I was thinking about buying a similar shorts at Topshop but I didn't.. what a pitty!
Loved the Fendi collection for spring.
I seem to have bought pretty underwear in abundance, at Selfridges and at Agent Provocateur.
It's been pretty hard trying to find decent stuff among all of the sequins and sparkle, especially since the rails are so messy.
x.
That skirt is lovely. Im exactly the same with the sales, went to the Trafford Center and just ended up getting flustered and annoyed, managed to purcahse a French Connection dress though, and returned some pjs for a polka dot dress!
I'm sort of the same... I never mind Fendi when I see the designs on the runway, then I promptly forget about the label when it's time to go shopping. Probably because while I like it, I don't like it enough to spend all that money - there are just other designers I'd rather buy.
Cute skirt and love the Fendi collection! I haven't checked out any winter sales yet. I think many are still in crazy holiday shopping mode, so I'm waiting for it to lighten up a little ;-)

i am such a bad sale shopper too even though i love finding bargins i just do not have the patience to look through all the jumble to find a jem!
I loved the s/s '10 collection for Fendi. Those lucite platforms kill me. I have one posted on my blog right now!

skirt is great! i can't by anything in a period of sales, too many people in shops. i have no skill to do shopping in such conditions.
yes! a marc by marc blazer, a sonia by sonia purple quilted skirt and elle macpherson underwear - all for under £200 - in selfridges on boxing day!
also a beauuutiful french connection coat as a present from my mum.
net-a-porter is kinda disappointing this year, no?
I LOVE that skirt.. and I have to agree, sales racks NEVER look nearly attractive enough!
I love the paper bag waist! I saw it done on Project Runway last season by Althea, and it was soo cute!
"Sales racks never look inviting..."
I find this too, and have always puzzled over how a £1300 Fendi bag is revered on a podium all season only to be squashed in a bargain bin, the tag mauled by angry red pen come sale time. Hmmmm.
I went to sales shopping today but (un)fortunately to my wallet, there was only big numbers of the pieces that I would love to buy. At least I didn't do any "impulse shopping"! Maybe tomorrow... ;)
omg, that Fendi bag is so beautiful, I really like it :)
Please please please post a picture of the skirt, I'm dying to see it.
I actually did a little bit of sales shopping in Matalan of all places. Got loads of lovelly little skirts.
Love Jojo
xx
I'm dying to see the skirt too!

I have the same kind of relationship with Fendi. I kind of dislike its bags and things only because they´re fendi but it is reallyt creative and it has amazing designers.
I've been doing a lot of online sale shopping. I'm with you on the horror of sale racks... Really quite awful. The paper bag waist skirt is beautiful. You've reminded me to rummage through my drawers for a grey knee length version I purchased a few seasons ago...
I'm going to FENDI at Ala Moana in Oauhu when I leave for my trip to Hawaii in two days. I'll keep my eyes peeled for deals!!
I prefer FENDI Fall over SP/SU.
Gorgeous skirt!
Lovely blog!

Wow........
All the shoes and dresses are so beautiful, I just love the Fendi Collections.
I'm the same with the new clothes too and then I have to remind myself to snap out of it and get back to the scabby sale rail! I'm really quite scared by woman in sales and sale ques in general so haven't got enough just yet. Much prefer sample sales!
love the style. i want that skirt!!!
I just love that paper bag skirt. Def something I would wear
I really like this collection. I love the neutral tones and the accessories are great too.
Those Fendi heels are beautiful.
