A Night at the Movies

I loved the Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture collection. I know I say I love things a lot but I really, really love this collection, in a way I have never loved couture before.
JPG was inspired by Hollywood and the movies this season, which explains the overdose of glamour.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who would love to spend just one day with my hair perfectly curled, dressed in Gaultier couture with fur (faux for me, please) draped over my shoulders. Because people don’t live like that, not even people in the movies live like that anymore. And right now the fantasy seems way better than the reality, no?

Natasha Poly, how I love you...

The Telegraph has a great video of the collection [view here] which is worth checking out. Clothes like these need to be seen in motion, and the models pose beautifully. Also JPG seems like the most lovely man – I adore him.

Jean Paul Gaultier was my favourite but I also adored the Chanel and Givenchy collections.

Who were your favourite collections this Couture season?

I really liked the Dior collection, it was so bright and colourful and subtly sexy!! But I'm not sure, Gaultier is rivaling it as my favourite...

I really like the JPG collection! It's very Lady Gaga-esque in a way but toned down in a good way... But honestly my big favorites of the shows are Elie Saab and Valentino. So. Gorgeous.

not elie saab, see my last post... haha. I loved gaultier as well :D

I know who would wear this stuff - lady gaga. totally. I mean look at the first two pictures you posted - she's probably already got them, to be honest. totally her.

I love the Gaultier collection... it has sort of a modern, sexed up version of the 40's glamor.

i really liked the JPG fall 2009 haute couture collection as well. i think my fave look was magdelena frackowiak's look at the end with the bustier bodysuit and fur, and her perfect hair.

Well I love JPG - he is my fave all time designer and it was the best this time. I did thing everyone (apart from Elie Saab) did a great show. I know you didn't think much of the Dior one but on the whole it was all truly directional and fab stuff from all!

it actually really annoyed me that perez hilton proclaimed the JPG got inspiration from lady gaga...anyway i really like the contrast of the sharp lines with the glam.

ONE URGENT QUESTION.HOW DID YOU MAKE YOUR BLOG INTO 3 COLUMNS AND HOW DO YOU MAKE YOUR PICS LOOKS THAT BIG.I JUST...CAN'T :(

in other matters. though i really liked the collection it was sort of mismatching,is that valid? haha okay every designer does whatever they want but...anyways loveeed the mix of textures and the hairdos were pff perfect but then again i have this thing for 20's/40's hair.

Givenchy, Dior and JPG were standouts for everyone this season, I think. They were really representative of each desginer (Galliano - fun and sexy, Tisci - masterful and opulaent, JPG-very fun).
