Rihanna Also Loves Gorillas

Photobucket
You know in fashion the trend for all things Gorilla-like has been bubbling for a while, but now Rihanna has worn Christopher Kane's Gorilla dress it it's going to go global. Or she will be mocked by the people who don't understand fashion.
Either way Gorilla fashion is hanging around, so much so I've had to make a tag for 'Gorilla Fashion' on the blog.

I know Rihanna probably doesn't like to be papped in the same look twice, but this would be a great dress to wear to court. And speaking of the whole Rihanna/Chris Brown thing, why in the world does he still have fans?

CFDA News - I'm going to cover all the CFDA looks in this weeks Hit and Miss because I don't have time today. But Blake Lively? What a shocker! So she can look good. Ashley Olsen of course looked fabulous, I'm so glad Alexander Wang and Rodarte won and it looks like Anna has snagged my dream guy (who doesn't look so dreamy here) Justin Timberlake.

I'm not heartin' the gorilla thing but it does look good. I'm all for others wearing it.

uhm I'm glad Rihanna is being such fashionista lately but she shouldn't have sport that hairdo with the already powerful Kane, it's kind of having a bird of paradise on the head..too much jungle here.but oh well, maybe it's just me :)

haha yeah, i can see the 'fashion' magazines (hello gossip rags) giving this a low rating without knowing what theyre talking about. likewise, I can see the actual fashion magazines ignoring it because shes a singer and not a model... haha, she can't win. At least we appreciate it - she looks amazing.

Sorry but I don't like the way she looks in that dress.

I like the Gorilla look but it's also extremely aggressive, Sea of Shoes' aka Jane's mum, is posted wearing it as a top and it looks pretty freakin' cool, if you ask me :)

Love the gorilla dress, but for some reason not on her... I don't know what it is... it just looks overwhelming on her (and I would have gotten rid of that necklace). I do like the fact that Rihanna isn't afraid to wear whatever she feels like even if she knows people might bash her. My favorite look was when she wore the Balenciaga gladiator boots.

Rihanna is working it in that dress, I think she looks great. Even though she's not stick thin she looks amazing in designer clothing.

I must admit I'm not a fan of the Christopher Kane gorilla (and other full-on) prints...

Can't wait for your Hit & Miss post! I always look forward to them :)

I'm worried because I know that some scary cheap imitations are soon to come.

i don't like the way she looks here. i don't like her style, actually. however, i've seen other celebrities who wear gorillas as if they were born for that, so that makes me interested in gorillas mouths. =)
love you blog more and more.

It works on her. Most things do, IMO.

I guess I am just one of those who "don't understand fashion". I really feel the need to say that this dress looks like a horrible, cheap nightgown, something I might have worn when I was a pre-teen.

I do have a question, though. What does it mean to "understand fashion"? To buy in any piece of crap a "designer" puts together or an IT girl decides to wear?

If that's what it is, too bad. I guess I should not expect any connection between "fashion" and "style".

I still wonder, though, what Coco Chanel would think about this dress. Or maybe she didn't understand fashion either.

I remember when every store would want to sell tops with zebras on them. I'm interested to see all the gorilla tops come out.

Haha she would look awesome in court! And yes, it evades me why he still has fans. Even my sister is stilling listening to his old stuff. He's done and done in my book.

As crazy as the Gorilla print maybe to some people, I loved it, Rihanna worked it!

I am so dumbfounded with the whole Chris/Rihanna think. It is absolutely disgusting to think that he thinks he can get away with it, how atrocious is it that he might only get slapped with a misdemeanor? Like Cher says 'I think it is a travesty on the part of the legal profession'

Gorillas are really cute at the zoo, in the jungle, and on Rihanna, for the rest of us mortals, not so much.
