The most noticeable 'trend' to come out of the Autumn/Winter collections was the thigh-high boot. It seems a little weird to be talking about boots that cover your whole leg just as we're branching into bare-leg weather, but a girl's gotta plan her wardrobe, right?
My favourite's are the Kirkwood for Rodarte boots. They were the standout of the collection, and I actually think I prefer them in black. Obviously these will sell out in no time - and the women buying them are sooo lucky.

The Prada boots I am not so keen on. The fact they get wider over the thigh is a little odd and I don't like the colours. Maybe if I go fishing though..

I love the Stella collection. Especially the centre look worn by Natasha Poly. It's great how Stella does thigh-highs without using leather and she makes a furry looking coat (that is just as gorgeous as any fur ones I've seen) without killing any animals.

Marc Jacobs' purple suede boots? Who would say no? And they look casual - for over the knee boots.

The most glam interpretation of the look was done at Emilio Pucci, where the boots were worn with bare legs. The centre look is my favourite. And as you can see they use fur, but I think Stella McCartney's non-fur option is actually nicer.

So, which are your favourites? And will you be wearing the look this Winter?

Ooh! I like the Pucci OTK boots look the best too ;) Sadly, I cannot zip up my Costume National OTK boots from a few years ago (due to weight gain), boo hoo!
I'll be wearing the look this winter as I've been wearing it for the past five winters, with my black suede boots. Looks like a great time to pick up another version though -- something less basic.
I may have a problem with these thigh high boots given the effort I have to put in to pull up knee boots over my calves! Eeek. But these long-limbed models look great in them.
Stella McCartney!!!
NEED a Rodarte ones....
Nice blog
FOLLOWING YOU
Hasta la vista, Mademoiselle
I absolutely adore Stella and Rodarte! Your right about Prada, pretty woman or what? and not in a good way...
wider is definitely not hot, and I imagine really irritating to wear, banging against each other.
I would like a less extreme version of the Pradas, definitely not thigh high.
rodarte's seem to stand out from the rest... but for practicality, i think prada suits me more as i've thunder thighs... i love emilio's too...
I prefer the Stella McCartney and Rodarte ones. They seem like tregging-boots, and I like the concept. I gotta thing the "Pussy in Boots" Prada kind of style pretty funny! But I'm not sure I would wear it...I don't wanna look like a walking costume.
i love the marc jacobs and pucci ones. the pradas are scary. reminds me of slaughter suits.Yuck.
thanks for sharing. you really know how to make a great blogentry!
I'll go for the Stella's any day, they're more like footed leather pants than boots, as I can't imagine jeans or anything thicker than tights would fit inside.
love love all the boots, but yes the prada are way too wide up top... hopefully this melts to the mainstream!!
xx
Lovin the over the knee boots, they were all over the front row at LFW and our buying director Bridget cant get enough of them...

Over the knee boots can be so touch and go, but I love the way Pucci and Rodarte did them.
i have been looking for a good pair of knee high for so long but i guess it would be kinda foolish to get them now just as its getting warm
haha, thats so funny. i thought it was only me.. everybody i know except my mom drinks the coffe /tea hot. i would never ever do that again. pain for hours .-maybe days..
have a good day. lovely you
My favorites are the Rodarte in black, the Marc purple suede, and all the Pucci boots. I most likely wouldn't wear any of them...but I might go for the teal Pucci boots...

Over the knee boots are 'Pretty Woman' retro styled kinda boots.

No one knows this, but the world of 'prostitution' / 'the adult movie industry' is a big influence on big name fashion designers. Clothingwise. But also accesoires, make-up, hairstyle and....attitude on the runway,
Loves it, darling! Especially Stella McCartney! Fab trendspotting, Coco :)
Btw, am having a contest on my blog today so be sure to pop by and enter!

i would say a big NO to the prada boots and an emphatic YES to everything else--YUMMY :-)
The Kirkwood ones (as all Kirkwood shoes are) are fabulous. I think the pale tone is really spectacular though if I could only get one, black is the way to go... great with those Rodarte frocks.. or any mini really.
I've been on the hunt for a pair since the beginning of time. lol... but they are just too pricey.
I've actually got some over the boots in black suede from Primark...although they need something doing to them as they seem a bit plain at the moment...also just wanted to say loved the pic of yourself. Great to see the girl behing the blog..

I'm a fan of the Stella and the Marc boots! Love this trend even though I'm dying to wear my sandals!
I adore Pucci boots, those are amazing good!

Ahhh! Stella you're amazing. And Marc and Rodarte! I love high boots...it makes you look dangerous and sexy!
I love this post:)
they are super stylish if a gal is really tall. for me, since i am only 5'4", I think I will just wear knee high instead.
;)
Loving this look, great for keeping warm. My faves are Kirwood for Rodarte and Stella mcCartney none leather yunnies!
delish post! x

I am all about the hooker boots. I think they are so hot and Rodarte did it best.
I think tall, long legged girls can pull it off like Pucci's take. They make it look good.
The Marc Jacobs and Pucci ones are the most wearable in my opinion. I hated the Pradas. So ugly!
wow a lot of them almost look like leggings! i love the marc jacobs ones.
YES! I've been wearing it in flat blacks for the last two winters but these are higher and sleeker so I'm all for it torn between Stella and Mr MJ but I would do the Prada ones too!
loving emilio pucci! the prada are so unflattering!
nice post :)
xoxo
I think this could be such a flattering trend. I've been waiting the whole winter to get my hands on a pair and now I clearly need to wait through the summer to see more options.

You're a mind reader, I'm lusting over some over the knee boots too!
My Stuart boots that Lohan stole [ugh, I had them first Lohan!] are just at the knee, but I spent literally 3 years searching for knee high boots. I'm so glad more people will be producing them for fall, but kind of sad I won't be one of the few who actually wears the look :(
pucci of course !
I've got OTK boots, but thigh high boots are looking a hell of a lot sexier! What was Miuccia thinking, the Prada ones resemble waders! Stella does a good thigh high boot, I still love the ones she did a couple of years ago! Also love Marc Jacobs and Pucci.

Thanks for the sweet comment! =)
Anyway, I like over-the-knee boots, but I like them when they look like leggings, like in Stella McCartney. I do NOT like them when they are too wide or too slouchy so that they look like garbage bags around your legs. I like the Rodarte ones too, but they COULD end up being too S&M, no?
I like the Marc Jacobs and the Pucci ones best!
I can't pull these off because I'm just too short. I love the Rodarte ones though...
surely rodarte, followed closely by gucci. and hell yes, i'd wear them!!!
I love the trend! didn't care for the Prada version thou. My fave are the rodarte's
C.
I love the color scheme of Prada's clothes, hmm... but I'm not sure who can rock those thigh high boots hehehe* :)
Hm, don't think I'm too crazy about them, but if I had to choose I'd pick Emilio Pucci's.
I love these boots and this look :)
great post :D
If I will wear them?!!!! Not sure yet, lets see...
Hi,
Have you seen the Isabel Marant collection.
She has done the best thigh high boots, and her whole collection is so incredibly wearable. I want every piece in the collection.
Hi,

My legs are thick... even thigh~ I am sure I have to tailor make one to fit into my legs... But if the boots are loose fit, it would make my legs look even thicker, and shorter too.... :(
I'm soo very in love with the dark turquoise Pucci boots...they are beautiful..and the purple Marc Jacobs are to die for. I'm sure I couldn't afford them though..unless I saved for months or years for that matter..:P
my favourite would have to be the Rodarte and the Pucci, but as much as i love this look and I have envied the look on La Lanphear, I certainly could never pull it off... my legs are a wee short and considering i only stand at a total of 5'5.5", then the boots would be taking up half my body size. sad face... http://www.debrisblanclaboritorium.blogspot.com i love your blog
pucci boots PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
ugh
Just posted a link to this entry - loving the OTK boots...
