The Problem With Strapless

I feel a bit Heat magazine posting these pictures. You know those silly pages where they circle sweat patches on celebrities or someones chipped nail varnish? These pictures could make those pages.
But watching Sarah Jessica Parker struggle with a strapless dress makes me like her even more. Because if you are flat-chested the strapless dress is like the devil.

It could have been worse though; at least she didn't do a Janet Jackson.

  4. I think strapless dresses are difficult and a pain regardless, I have a larger chest but I still find myself tugging!

  5. I've no pity for her, although the pics are endearing. Strapless dresses are a nightmare for anyone with a B-Cup up, there's over-pop to worry about, as well as bra concealing, support and full pop-out to consider!

  6. Oh I know this problem too good. I love strapless dresses but this makes me often not wear them.

  7. sometimes it's worst !!

  8. That's why I never wear this kind of dress!

  9. Man, I thought flat-chested broads had it better when it came to strapless. I stay away from those, no matter how cute the top or dress is. Poor Sarah =/

  12. I used to hate strapless for this reason. Now I'm a lot more comfortable with it and do wear it, but I'm sure you'd easily catch me hiking it up at some point!

  13. But she really does look stunning in it!

  14. How gorgeous isn't that dress! Me want!

  15. ohh I hate this! it's annoying and doesn't look that good if you're pushing and pulling your dress up (and down)... anyway the dress and Sarah look gorgeous!!

  16. I like strapless dresses and I like that one her, although I think it's not very classy to wear a dress that doesn't fit perfectly and then one has to push, tug, pull, hold lol just like you've said!
It can def ruin an outfit and it's not comfortable at all!

  19. Get toupee tape and double side it to hold strapless bit to your skin - it works a treat!

  20. SJP is not exactly flat chested, at all. I think that strapless dresses are really pretty difficult for girls with a biggish chest too - if they don't fit exactly right you will be tugging and shoving things back into place all the live long day.

too bad they look so darn cute!

  21. Yikes! That is me, no question, wearing a strapless dress. Without tons of cleavage, it can be so difficult. I feel her pain-- for the price of fashion.

  22. Poor Jess pulling up her dress in all the pictures!

  23. Yes strapless dresses are a pain for any chest size I think! I'm not looking forward to being a bridesmaid for my sister because the dress is strapless. Tit tape!

  24. I think its just a case of a bad fit!

If you are going to go strapless it needs to be boned and fit properly in all the right places, then it should stay put.....

Meanwhile I do really really love that dress

  25. The print on the dress is fantastic, SJP hand's having to act as safety pins is no so good - as the flat chested wearer of many a strapless dress - I feel Sarah's pain!!

  26. I think a better bra or dress size would help the situation, but she still looks quite nice!

  27. Poor SJP. Whatever happened to double-sided tape? :)

Uncomfortable or not, SJP looks good in plaid. Some garment tape is called for here.

  31. I just wanted to say I love that dress. GoFugYourself did a post on this but due to their (smart and intentional) lack of comment section I wasn't able to say I liked it there.

  32. I love the dress, but that can always be a problem with something strapless.

  33. i'm the same way w/strapless dresses. i think flat or busty, it's just not gonna stay up. even w/double stick tape. but i do love her dress!

  34. This is the one reason why I seriously do not ever wear strapless (although I have to at my sister's wedding), all of my strapless whatever's always fall down!

    ReplyDelete
  35. It's not just flat-chested ladies. I have more than my fair share of boobage (I am not bragging, I wish they were about 3 sizes smaller) and strapless is still difficult to pull off.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Aww haha, so true, I love her even more now.

    ReplyDelete
  37. it may be falling down, but I still love that dress!

  38. That is such an awful pattern, but the shape is darling on her...

  39. That's such a cute dress! I also hate that fact about strapless dresses/tops, but I must say, sadly it is not only reserved for the flat-chested :(
    xx

  40. I share her annoying pain with that! I love a good strapless dress but tugging and pulling on it can be so annoying! But the good thing is she looks fabulous!

  42. really hate strapless dresses for this reason - its called hollywood tape dear!! and she just looks like a christmas present here...

  43. Why don't they use two-sided cellotape?

    ReplyDelete
  44. It's the problem with strapless dresses, you always have to straightened them out, they're not really comfortable in fact!

    ReplyDelete
  45. my friend uses tape, she says it works perfectly XD i just dont go for strapless

    ReplyDelete
  46. i love strapless dresses and am less than blessed myself. i just make sure it's super fitted in the waist so it can't have far to go if it trys to fall. :)
