50 Best Dresses Of The Year - 2008

I have been putting this list together since March, so it feels so good to finally post it. I have gone through countless different orders - and I'm sure you will all disagree with some of my ratings, each having favourites of your own - but this is the lineup that I felt was the fairest. I found it so hard to judge this year, as all the dresses are so different and beautiful - I forgot how many great red carpet events there were this year.
The list only includes celebrities, if I took into account models, editors and all the other fashion people the list would go on for miles. And it isn't just about the dress, it is about how the celebrity wears it.
For those who like the facts here are some of the 2008 statistics:
-The three top rating celebrities this year were Lake Bell, Nicole Richie and Thandie Newton, all making the list three times. Out of them Thandie received the highest ratings.
-A grand total of 11 black dresses made the top 50, showing that Coco's classic is still a wardrobe must.
-Givenchy and Dries Van Noten both made the top 10 twice, making them the most successful labels of the year.
-And an amazing 13 of the 50 dresses were designed by Brits, we're so clever. Enjoy...
