This year has been owned by the four SATC girls. The film was the moment of the summer. But while it was good to have them back, there was a lot too much of them. It seemed like the girls were everywhere, mostly because they were. People who had clearly never been into the show were suddenly dressing up like Carrie and dropping phrases like "I got to thinking" into conversation. It got too much even for me, and I love the show so much I actually carry a fake Carrie Bradshaw ID in my purse at all times.
But it finally seems like the fuss has died down (although the DVD is out in 2 weeks so I'm sure it will pick up again soon) and I have rediscovered the magic of the show.
As I type this I am watching Let There Be Light (series 6) which is possibly one of the best episodes. It is also the episode where Samantha wears her yellow jacket. Whenever I think of Samantha Jones I think of that yellow jacket. Anyone with the DVD must watch this episode today. If not here is what you are missing...

I read that there's going to be another film, coming out when i'm not sure. I don't see were else they could go with it, Samantha's going to have more problems,and her past is going to "come back to haunt her" wasn't cancer enough?
I loved the series WAY more than the film. Great stills, I LOVE that episode and totally agree about Samantha's jacket :)
I really know what you mean, th summer was full of satc, I don't know I guess here in germany it wasn't that much, but I can imagine how it must have been in England or America...
I loved the mix of textures worked into that Central Park outfit.... the idea of a second film is just ludicrous...

Anyway I still love SATC like I used to do before.
on german tv they repeat older episodes and I watched a few when I had holiday.sometimes carrie looked aweful haha

Ah yes, I have been wanting to get a white shirt for ages. My favourite episdoe is actually a woman's right to shoes! Hahaha

I never get bored watching re-runs of this show because there is just so much there, fashion-wise.... and I find myself getting annoyed when I see a great outfit and can't find out what it is in the multiple sites and books devoted to SATC fashion :p
There's 2 things that I consider iconic with Samantha Jones - her red dress (in the episode where she hooks up with a guy who has a huge *) and that yellow jacket.

i much prefer the series to the film, especially since i kept expecting the film to just end after 30 minutes. I was so confused when it kept going...

I don't remember that episode which is weird as I have the DVD boxset and have seen all the shows over and over. I will check it out in due course. But the images are great and Carrie is working that coat and purple skirt in the bottom pic. I so do agree with you about the jump on the wagon S&TC fans. When the series started back in 94 not many people liked it a lot so it is weird to see all these die hard fans gushing over the film. I really hope they do not make another film, the last one was great but I think they should call it a day and pat themselves on the back for the huge buzz it created.
I loved the series so much. The movie just made me crave for more.

Well I'm glad that SATC isnt that much of a hot where I am~ People are generally more into Blair's & Serena's antics as compared to the more iconic Carrie & Samantha~ But; who am I to complain~ It's great that I can keep those great girls and their styles to myself!

I must get SATC series on DVD I rely on Paramount for my fix. One of my fav episodes is Atlantic City - so much so I went there, by chance tho!

I miss the ladies and have been rewatching all six seasons. I love the Let there be Light episope. I am going to watch it this weekend! So fantasitc. I never tire of watching the show, I must have seen all the episodes at least 5 times... I like to watch in English and in French, it's quite strange really how watching in a different language gives a whole new dimension to the show! I agree that the movie really was the big hit of the summer, and I'm looking forward to seeing it again on DVD!!!

I love her on white shirts! she looks so cool -and they are always from someone else-. Carrie is an icon, despite I know the dialogues by heart, I still watched the series often because clothes are gorgeous
I wish I knew how to work the peekaboo bra! I need to study SJP a little more, since I think she's one of the greatest style icons of our time. Also, I think the white beaded necklace could be DIY'ed pretty easily with simple clasps you can get at an art store. And this comment has inspired me to whip out my jewelry supplies again, hahaha!
