This post has taken ages to put together (no post has ever taken over a month before!) I have searched through every event, month, and celebrity gallery I can think of to find the hottest dresses and who designed them. There are sadly a few dresses that I couldn't find the designer for so if you know who some of them are by please leave a comment!
I have asked two of my favourite bloggers, Su from The Stiletto Effect and Stevie (MK to my Ash) from Discotheque Confusion to share their opinion on the dresses.
For those of you who like fashion statistics you will be interested to know that out of the 50, seven dresses are Chanel, ten are black, two yellow, four are worn by Kate Bosworth, One is worn backwards, and Zac Posen is the king, with three of his designs in the top ten!
I hope you enjoy the post!

that dress on mary-kate is amazing i love that she wore it in black!
ReplyDeletethis post is amazing! i really enjoyed reading it. the dresses are beautiful....i'm in love with siennas dress.
ReplyDeletekisses, anna
i agree about mary kate's dress it was amazing, sienna miller also looked great, i thought Renee's and Penelope's were so regal and glamorous and Kate Bosworth is a great style icon
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job for this post. My favourites are the Valentino's, Cameron and Sarah Jessica
ReplyDeleteIn the 24 I think Kate Bosworth was wearing Chloé. But I'm not 100% sure.
ReplyDeleteGreat work, it must have been so tedious. But it worths it.
MK's dress was ah-mazing! one of my favourites by far. and siennas green chanel was simply gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGood work. though a particular dress looked like i designed it (my lips are sealed as to whose)and i cant design. but well most are lovely.
ReplyDeletegreat post!!
ReplyDeleteLove the #1 dress...Mary Kate looks amazing :)
Oh my god Coco ! I wish I could give 100 comments for this post to reward you from all this efford!
ReplyDeleteYou've really done a great job, i don't agree with all the dresses, but that's just a question of taste. I can't believe it's already been a year and that all that has hapened during it.
Kate Bosworth had a good year. I need to admit it though to me it stil looks like she would be still finding her style and for that trying all those ( to me ) so different kind of dresses. or then that's just the way she is.
who knows.
and posh was at the list ! oh my ! :D i think that she isn't quite that bad as we like to say that she is.
my personal favs from the list are Cameron, Natalie, Devon and Dita.

I have to confess, as I did back in the day, that this year's dress for me was Cate Blanchett wearing Armani Privé at the Oscars. Then, I was really stunned with Rachel Bilson in Chanel, Demi Moore in YSL and Dita in Marchesa.
ReplyDeleteOf course, the Olsens and Kate Bosworth are always in my podium, so no wonder about that.
Great work with the post. It's worth being on all Vogues at a time! xx
awesome post! :) but i had no idea that rachel bilson wore her Chanel backwards! that is so cool!
ReplyDeleteI loooved this post.. all the dresses were a-m-a-z-i-n-g , except number 41 i think.. didnt like that one but thats just my opinion..btw i didnt get if your comment was positive or negative!!
ReplyDeleteiv just been scrolling down the page excitedly for minutes! A great complilation of style + imagination- roll on 2008!

Yeah, Kate wears Chloé in 24.
ReplyDeleteGreat review!
Eeeee i love this post!!
ReplyDeleteIts amazing!
WELL DONE YOU!! :D:D

Kate is a mess in #41. never for the life of me will I understand why she is held up as a style icon. Left to her own devices she spent an entire summer in capri pants under tunic dresses with gold lame flats back in 2004. She has nothing going for her now that she is not bearding that actor she was pretending to date for four years so she has to keep her name out there by wearing bad clothes to big parties. How much does her PR people pay bloggers to include her in posts like these?
ReplyDeleteSadly Kate's PR is not paying me to say nice things about her
ReplyDeletethough they are welcome too (hint hint)
but I do agree, she used to dress not so good, but I think this year has been good for her
but it is all down to personal taste
Ash, this turned out so well!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're pleased with it, it all looks very professional, and I love the fact you actually named every single one of the dresses!
I'm sorry, I just realised that obviously I was meant to comment on the dresses in a good way! I just thought you wanted me to comment on then, so I guess it's lucky that I liked the majority.
good stuff.
MK xx

wow, this post was amazing! I almost loved every single one of these dresses.
ReplyDeleteMy favourites were Chloe Sevigny in the green Balenciaga (mostly because of the colour, she's always got the colours right), Demi Moore in YSL (love the daring print!) and Sienna in the fabulous Chanel dress, love it.
And I just adore your pick number 1, MK is gorgeous!!
You did a great, great job on the post - I love it! You can be proud of yourself :)
great post....i like all of demi's dresses, she really is beginning to grow on me. i love devon's dress-totally something i dream off working on the red carpet.
ReplyDeleteCate, Katherine, Chloe, Angelina and Reese were my faves. Yeah, its a great ser of pictures, thank you ! :) but i also think some of those dresses weren't all that beautiful. stylish, yes, all of them, but i just hated a few. and on the other hand, you couldn't stop stearing at some ! i liked kiki's, she rocked it but i don't if it's my favorite dress. :)
ReplyDeletenice blog by the way

Sienna in Chanel and Kate in Dior is just pure perfection :)
ReplyDeleteCoco, I can imagine how much effort you put on searching all these photos for the post, as well as info about who wore who. This is a great selection of fabulous dresses! I'd say Angelina in yellow was a lovely surprise for me as well.
